Climate change is accelerating and the time for "Could have... Would... Could... Should... Should" is over! It is more urgent than ever that we break out of resignation and put our good intentions into action.

We, the JANUFAKTUR, want to set a good example and show the world that it's possible!

That we can not only philosophize about ecological growth and social entrepreneurship, but bring these ideals to life through active action. Together with you we want to make our way to a more sustainable and socially just world.

An important step in this direction is that we minimize our own impact on the planet. Specifically, we make sure, for example, that we produce as little waste as possible. Among other things, we do not use disposable products in the manufacture and transport of our products, we handle our raw materials extremely carefully and in a resource-saving manner and use unusable offcuts for the production of wood samples, prototypes or small giveaways. In addition, we only work with local suppliers to avoid unnecessarily long delivery routes. We are also currently working on the realization of our own photovoltaic system in order to supply both production and the planned, fully electric vehicle fleet with our own, emission-free solar energy in the future.

But that's not all! Freedom from emissions and CO2 compensation is not enough for us! Time is running out so much that we see it as our duty not only to act in a climate-compensated manner, but also to act in a climate-positive manner. This means that we go one step further and actively participate in the preservation and reconstruction of ecosystems. For this reason we brought the Wilderness International Foundation on board as a long-term partner. The Wilderness International team devotes its daily work to the legally secure purchase of ecologically valuable and acutely threatened forest and wilderness areas in Peru and Canada in order to protect them for all future. Since we value the projects and the transparent approach of the foundation very much, we have decided to become a long-term partner and supporter of this work with JANUFAKTUR.

With every product sold, we give up a part of our profit and thus support the work of Wilderness International. In concrete terms, this means: From every sale, we donate 2% of the income to the preservation of the last intact rainforests. With every table, bench or care set from JANUFAKTUR, you are helping to preserve biodiversity on our wonderful planet, protect important habitats and store large amounts of CO2 in the biomass of the protected areas.

When JANUFAKTUR was founded, it was already clear to us that the entire production should be as climate-neutral as possible. However, it cannot be denied that, despite all efforts, we will inevitably leave a footprint in many respects, albeit marginal, both in the procurement of raw materials and in processing and delivery. We partially compensate for this imprint with our products themselves, which already bind a considerable amount of carbon due to the solid wood used. Due to the high processing quality, our products also have an impressive longevity, so that the bound amount of CO2 remains withdrawn from our atmosphere for just that lifetime. We also compensate for the remaining footprint with the help of Wilderness International's CO2 calculator. We can therefore proudly announce that we are a certified CO2 compensated brand.

However, our “2% for the planet” campaign goes a significant step further. With every product sold, we let our JANUFAKTUR forest continue to grow and bind an average of another 1.2t of CO2 per sale. The voluntary additional burden enables us to make a significantly larger contribution to saving our planet, which leads to a significant overcompensation of our work.

JANUFAKTUR not only has a CO2-compensated environmental balance, but is also considered a climate-positive brand.
